An elegant Georgian mansion built in 1790 by Dublin snuff merchant Lundy Foot (originally called Footmount) in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, set on 100 acres with panoramic views across Dublin City, Howth Head, and the Irish Sea. In 1798 the United Irishmen attacked the house but were repelled; it later served as an Augustinian retreat before restoration to its current use.
